'Staying-put' in Hongkong
BR
RITISH feeling is growing in Hongkong that the Government should make it plain, once for all, that we intend to stay there until the lease expires in 1997.
Hongkong Britons don't like the look of things in Malaya or the fact that Chinese Communists have måde this "Paris of the East" their propa- ganda H.Q.
Their not-so-underground activities tended to get lost in the immediate post- war boom. Now, with the guns cracking in Malaya, come reality and thoughts for the future.
